Posted in Corporate

The Board of Directors of Pound-Maker Agventures Ltd. and Pound-Maker Capital Corp. are pleased to announce the following changes to the management structure effective August 1, 2016. These changes were precipitated by the retirement of the current President, Brad Wildeman, from full time duties after over 30 years of service to the company.

Brad Welter will assume the role of President and will act as the senior operating officer for the company. Mr. Welter will be responsible for all aspects of the company’s performance. He has been employed at Pound-Maker for the past 14 years, and has 29 years of experience in the cattle industry predominately in the feeding sector.

Mr. Welter remarked “I am very excited to be named President. Pound-Maker was created by the insight and innovative thinking of its founders, and has been built into what it is today thanks to years of commitment from an entire network of stakeholders. I look forward to shaping the future with that network, including the Board of Directors, the shareholders, the neighbouring communities, and especially the people working here who dedicate themselves to the success of Pound-Maker every day.”

Kim Riel will be the Chief Financial Officer, and will assume responsibility for the finance and administrative duties within the company. Ms. Riel has 13 years of financial experience and has worked in the manufacturing and agricultural sectors. She holds a CPA-CMA designation.

Keith Rueve will continue to serve as the Director of Ethanol Production, Safety and Environmental Compliance. Mr. Rueve has been with the company since 1992 and has served as Ethanol Production Manager since 2001. His new responsibilities in safety and environmental management reflects the company’s focus on ensuring workplace safety and corporate environmental responsibility.

These changes have been implemented through a planned and deliberate transition involving the Board and management over several years to identify, recruit, and train personnel to ensure the new team was fully prepared for their new roles.

Mylles Wildeman, Chairman of the Board of Directors for the Pound-Maker group of companies stated “Our goal has been to put in place a leadership transition plan that would allow the companies to seamlessly accomplish this renewal. Considerable effort was made to ensure the proper planning and training occurred for a successful outcome for both the short and long term success of the organization. We are confident we have achieved that today”.

Mr. Welter who worked closely with Mr. Brad Wildeman during his years at Pound-Maker, added “I would like to express my gratitude to Brad Wildeman for his huge contribution to the success of Pound-Maker. His leadership, and mentorship to me as well as the rest of the Pound-Maker team, has been invaluable.”
Mr. Brad Wildeman will continue to serve on a part time basis as an advisor and mentor to the new management team, and the Board of Directors.
