Ken Ewen was raised on a mixed farm near Jansen, Saskatchewan. After graduating high school, Ken took an accounting program at Saskatoon Business College, graduating with honours in 1972. In December of 1972, Ken began working for Pound-Maker in the accounting department. Ken continues to work in the office and is the first employee to work at Pound-Maker for 40 years! Ken and his brother operated a grain farm near Jansen until 2008. Ken and his wife Arlene reside on the farm and have three children. Ken curled competitively for many years throughout Western Canada, winning many events and playing against the best teams in the world. Ken helped organize the Kinsmen Club in Jansen, and served as their first secretary. He was also on the board of the Jansen Curling Club for years, serving as treasurer for many. Ken has been on the church board for a number of years, as treasurer and councillor.
